The fairy tale castle which inspired Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland is just a 2 hour drive from our home. We thought seeing the castle during the dark days of winter would add a mysterious charm to the view. Little did we know that crossing Mary’s Bridge to see the castle from the rear-view would brink us to the brink of death. The bridge, which is strictly Verboten during the icy winter months, was actively being used by all kinds of tourists…little kids, old ladies, couples with large cameras and tripods. Despite the large sign warning of impending death. So, what did we do? We crossed it as well. And found ourselves holding tight to the rails as we looked for the perfect shot.
