Banned Books at my fingertips

We’ve been in the process of getting ready for our move and I spent most of the weekend going through storage bins.  Among the seasonal items and party supplies, I came across two boxes belonging to our oldest daughter, Lindsey.  Both boxes were a hodgepodge of her school career; some items from high school but primarily random assortment from college like bank statements, gum wrappers, course notes and a few campaign souvenirs.  And I found a little treasure.

bracelet2I am now the delighted custodian of a banned books bracelet. I gave this piece of jewelry to Lindsey several years ago and she’ll likely want it back– but until then, there’s some kind of strange power when I put it on. I feel confident and just a little dangerous.

The titles include:

  • To Kill a Mockingbird
  • The Color Purple
  • Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
  • Go Ask Alice
  • Annie on my Mind
  • Howl and other Poems
  • Huckleberry Finn
